Indications
Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, respiratory tract, genitourinary tract, and urinary system. It is indicated for the treatment of middle ear, otitis media, and uncomplicated urinary tract. It may be used in the management of infections of the skin, soft tissues, and mucous membranes. It should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by the physician. Use of Zithromax is not recommended for the management of infections of the skin, respiratory tract, and genitourinary tract. It should be used with caution in patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater (or over 40 kg), as calculated by the medical practitioner.
Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with acute otitis media (otitis media) in adults and adolescents (12-17 years of age) from 6 months of age to 12 years old. It is indicated for the treatment of middle ear, otitis media, and other otitis externa. It is also indicated for the treatment of genitourinary tract infections in women and men at least 18 years of age. Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension is contraindicated in patients receiving concomitant medication for prosthetic otitis media (see section 4.3).
The usual dosage of Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension is one 250 mg tablet taken with water 12 hours before the anticipated surgery. The dosage may be adjusted according to the response and tolerability of the patient. The course of treatment should be completed 2 weeks after the surgery. If the patient is receiving Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension for the first time, treatment should continue for 3 consecutive days.

In some patients Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension may cause gastrointestinal problems. These may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and a yellowish or orange discoloration of the stool. If these symptoms occur, stop taking Zithromax and contact your doctor.
Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension should not be used during pregnancy. It is not known if this medicine is excreted in human milk or if it can affect the baby. There have been reports of foetal deaths during treatment with Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension. If you are a mother and think you may be pregnant, immediately contact your doctor.
Zithromax 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension should be given to mothers who are breast-feeding to prevent the growth of breast-feeding-periods of up to 12 months have not been associated with breast-feeding. If you are a breast-feeding mother and think you may be pregnant, promptly contact your doctor.

A study was conducted in New York, which reported that a single dose of Zithromax caused a substantial decrease in the frequency of skin and/or respiratory infections in patients with severe acne.
The researchers determined that the drug caused a statistically significant improvement in the frequency of skin infections and that the drug did not cause serious side effects. The study also showed that patients taking the drug experienced less exacerbation of the disease.
In a separate study, researchers looked at the side effects of Zithromax (azithromycin) in patients with moderate acne. They concluded that Zithromax (azithromycin) caused no clinically meaningful side effects.
Zithromax (azithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic that fights bacteria in the skin, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract. It has the same side effects as azithromycin, such as skin rash, itching, and other antibiotic-related adverse effects. This study did not address the safety of using Zithromax (azithromycin) for treatment of acne.

Zithromax 250mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the United States and for the treatment of other bacterial infections as determined by the US FDA. Zithromax is an azithromycin (Amlodipine, Zmax) selective inhibitor. Zithromax is used to treat infections caused by certain strains of the designated microorganisms in the following countries: United States; Canada; Mexico; Brazil; Colombia; Canada; Mexico; Spain; Taiwan; Thailand; Argentina; Bolivia; andchieve faster, more complete eradication of bacteria. Zithromax 250mg Tablets are also indicated for the prevention and treatment of certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including gonorrhea and syphilis.
